Role of the Town Board
The Town Board is the legislative, appropriating, governing, and policy-determining body of the Town. It is composed of four elected board members serving at large, along with the Town Supervisor.
Town Board members may serve an unlimited number of terms.
Responsibilities of the Town Board
The Town Board is responsible for:
- Enacting all local laws, ordinances, and resolutions
- Adopting the Town’s annual operating budget
- Approving modifications and transfers between budget appropriations
- Authorizing the issuance of all Town indebtedness
- Establishing policies governing town operations and services
